This southern cream corn recipe by Smokin’ & Grillin with AB can easily impress all of your guests with its creamy, savory, and cheesy flavors. I tried to make it at home and it turned out so good and way more than what I expected. You will never go back to buying canned ones after you try this.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of fresh corn
- 1 sweet onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup of evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk
- 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup of shredded cheese
- 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of Himalayan salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin

Instructions:
Step 1:
Place a skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a little bit of butter. Once hot, add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and whisk well.
Step 2:
Add minced garlic and continuously mix to avoid burning. Next, add the chopped onions and cook until translucent.
Step 3:
Add the four cups of corn and mix. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on medium-low.
Step 4:
Season the corn with 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of Himalayan salt, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin. Mix everything until well combined. Cook for a little bit.
Step 5:
Mix 1/2 cup of evaporated milk, 1/2 cup of coconut milk, and 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream in a bowl, then add to the corn. Stir everything and cook until thick.
Step 6:
Turn off the heat and top with one cup of shredded cheese on top. Mix and let it melt.
Step 7:
Serve and enjoy!
