This southern chicken and stuffing casserole bake by Cara’s Recipes is loaded with shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, and stovetop stuffing. It’s one of the easiest dinner recipes you can make at home. It is absolutely delicious and comforting. You can serve it with green salad, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, cornbread, or dinner rolls.

To make this recipe, you need chicken breasts, cream of chicken soup, milk, stovetop stuffing mix, onion and herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. If you don’t have time to cook chicken, you can use canned chicken or rotisserie chicken. It is incredibly easy to prepare, making it the perfect dinner meal on a busy day.

Note: You can precook the chicken in the crockpot, but you can also use canned chicken or rotisserie chicken
Start by spraying a 13″ x 9″ baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Add the cooked and shredded chicken to the casserole. Spread in an even layer. Sprinkle with pepper, salt, onion, and herb seasoning.
In a large bowl, prepare the stovetop stuffing mix as directed in the box. You will need to combine it with water. Microwave on high for 5 to 6 minutes. Let the mixture sit in the microwave to steam while you prepare the other ingredients.
In a different bowl, add 2 cans of cream of chicken soup and milk. Stir until well combined. Pour the chicken over the shredded chicken. Use a spatula to spread it out.
Add the topping mix and spread evenly.
Cover your casserole with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes covered and 10 minutes uncovered. Once done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
