Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups of bread flour
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 3 tbsp butter

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Next, add 3/4 cup warm milk and one cracked egg in a large mixing bowl. Whisk well, then add 3 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp salt. Continue whisking until sugar and salt dissolve. Once done, add the dry yeast and 2 3/4 cups of bread flour. Mix well until dough forms, then cover it and leave for 20 minutes to rise. After 20 minutes, add the butter and mix it in until fully incorporated. After this, transfer the dough to your working surface. Knead it for eight to ten minutes until the surface is smooth.

Step 2

Once done, place the dough in a bowl, cover it with a cling wrap, and leave it for an hour. In the meantime, grease your square pan with cooking oil, and line it with parchment paper. Once one hour is up, press the dough to remove the gas and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Roll each dough piece, then cover with plastic wrap for 15 minutes. After this, roll each again, then transfer them to the prepared pan. Press the dough pieces lightly with your palm, then cover them with plastic wrap and leave them for 50 to 60 minutes, letting them rise for the last time.

Step 3

After 60 minutes, brush the dough with milk, then place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, lower the temperature to 320 degrees F and continue baking for another 20 minutes. After baking, brush the top with melted butter. Serve and enjoy!
