Ingredients:

  • 3 & 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 & 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of fresh milk
  • 1/3 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
  • eggwash: 1 egg + 2 tbsp milk

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Next, in a bowl, add 3 & 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1 tsp salt, and 2 & 1/4 tsp instant yeast. Mix well. After this, add 1 egg, 1 cup of fresh milk, and 1/3 cup of softened cream cheese. Mix it until dough forms, then cover it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, add 1/4 cup of softened unsalted butter, then mix until incorporated. After mixing, transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. (You know your dough is ready for proofing when it is elastic and not tearing when stretched.)

Step 2

Next, place in an oiled bowl and cover for an hour until it doubles in size. After 1 hour, transfer it to a surface and divide it into halves. Flatten and roll each dough tightly, then seal the edges by pinching. Slice them into 8 equal parts each, then transfer to a lined 7×4 inches loaf pan. Cover them and let them rest for 45 minutes. After this, brush each top with eggwash (1 egg + 2 tbsp milk.) Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
