Slow cooker recipes are one of my favorites when it comes to meat because it leaves them tender. Apple butter is one of the Fall spreads that can be used for anything. I think it would bring out great Fall flavors and requires little to no effort in making. Honestly, I don’t have many pork chops recipes, but I think this would be great to make during the holidays to be festive and seasonal. The Magical Slow Cooker tutorial on YouTube is straight forward and quick. I love how the video is a little over a minute, and the ingredients are listed on the screen while cooking. Plus, this is helpful because sometimes my hands are dirty, and I wouldn’t want to scroll down back and forth to the video and ingredients list.
First, add the pork chops into the slow cooker, and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.
Next, spread the apple butter over the pork chops. Then, add the onions and apples. Pour the apple cider vinegar over everything. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 7 hours without opening the lid during cooking time.
This is a great main dish to serve with mashed potatoes and toast. There are many ways to serve and pair these apple butter pork chops with vegetables and carbs. Also, I think it’s unique to add real apple slices to this dish because the sourness from the Granny Smith apples would balance out all of the flavors. I haven’t explored much with apple butter either too.
