Whether for gatherings or dinner, this simple scalloped potato casserole from Everyday Food on Youtube will surely become an instant hit. It’s super easy to prepare, and I bet you already have the full list of ingredients in your kitchen. My family loves this recipe, and it’s been a staple in my home cooking for the past few years. Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, plus more for baking dish
  • 1 garlic clove, smashed and peeled
  • 3 lb yukon gold potatoes (scrubbed, peeled, and thinly sliced)
  • 1 & 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 & 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your baking dish with butter and a smashed clove of garlic. Next, scrub, peel, and thinly slice 3 lb of yukon gold potatoes. After this, layer your potatoes, slightly overlapping each other.

Step 2

Season each layer with a bit of salt and ground black pepper. Now, make the cream mixture. Combine 1 & 1/4 cups heavy cream, 1 & 1/4 cups whole milk, 1 tsp coarse salt, and 1/2 tsp ground pepper in a bowl. Mix well, then pour it on top of the potatoes. Dot the top of 2 tbsp of unsalted butter. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, bake it for an hour covered, then uncover it and continue baking until it’s golden brown and bubbling.
