Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 sleeves of salted saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, tightly packed
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pecans, finely chopped
  • flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Directions:

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F, line a sheet pan with aluminum foil, and brush it with some butter. Layer the saltine crackers onto the prepared sheet pan and set aside. Next, in a pot, add 1 cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup tightly packed brown sugar. Turn the heat to medium and cook the mixture, stirring occasionally until the butter is melted. Once boiling, stop stirring it and just let it boil for three minutes straight. After three minutes, immediately pour the mixture over the saltine crackers.

Step 2

Spread the toffee into all corners evenly using a spatula. Place the saltine cracker toffee into the preheated 400 degrees F oven and bake it for five minutes. After baking, scatter the chocolate chips over the top, then return the toffee to the oven for another two minutes. Once done, smooth the choco chips evenly using a spatula over the crackers. Then, sprinkle the finely chopped pecans and a little bit of flaky sea salt. Now, let the saltine cracker cool before breaking it into pieces.
