Cinnamon rolls are already amazing, but the Tasty Recipes tutorial on YouTube takes it up a notch for the Fall season with salted caramel apple cinnamon rolls. This is a sweet dessert that can be enjoyed for breakfast or as a late-night snack. This recipe gave me a new perspective on what you can do to a cinnamon roll. I love how creative this is because there are many people who love cinnamon rolls and having a festive tasting feel that’s fall-ified.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups whole milk, warm to the touch
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 5 cups flour, divided
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
Filling:
- ¾ cup butter softened
- ¾ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 2 granny smith apples, sliced into 1/4 in (6 mm) wedges
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- unsalted butter, for greasing
Salted Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ cup heavy cream, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon flaky sea salt
Directions:
First, start off by watching the Tasty Recipes tutorial on YouTube to prepare the dough and filling for the cinnamon rolls. Once finished with the apples and dough, line up the apples all across the cinnamon roll dough.
Next, while the cinnamon rolls are baking in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 350F, make the salted caramel sauce on the stovetop.
