Ingredients:

  • 2 lb of ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons of granulated garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of granulated onion
  • 1 teaspoon of beef bouillon powder
  • 2 teaspoons of dried parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons of ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • pinch of salt and black pepper
  • drizzle of olive oil

For the gravy:

  • 1 lb of mushrooms (button or cremini mushrooms, sliced)
  • 1 onion (thinly sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 4 tablespoons of flour
  • 3.5 cups of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1:

Put the ground beef in a big bowl, and add the garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, Worcestershire sauce, beef bouillon powder, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper. Combine ingredients using your hands. Next, add the ketchup and mix again.

Step 2:

For the beef mixture, form it into 6 or 8 patties (depending on how big you want them to be). Place them on a plate.

Step 3:

Drizzle some olive oil in a pan. Once hot, add some of the patties and cook until browned and juicy on both sides. Transfer to a plate and continue cooking the remaining patties.

Step 4:

Make the sauce. In the same pan, add the butter and let it melt. Once melted, add the sliced onion and cook until softened. Next, add the garlic and mushrooms. Saute until it turns brown.

Step 5:

Add the all-purpose flour to the pan and mix. Next, pour the beef broth and stir. Place the cooked patties and add Worcestershire sauce. Let it cook until the sauce thickens. Make sure you pour the sauce on top of the patties while it cooks.
