Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large pan, then add the diced onions. Saute for about five to seven minutes until soften. Next, add the chopped garlic and continue to mix for a minute. Season with some salt and ground black pepper. Turn off the heat and let it cool for three to five minutes. Next, in a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, the cooked onion mixture, 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, 1/4 cup marinara sauce, 1 tsp yellow mustard, 1 tsp oregano, and 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
Take a cookie scooper, scoop some meat mixture, and round it into your hands. Place the meatball on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Repeat these steps until you finish the meat mixture. Once done, heat another 2 tbsp vegetable oil in the same pan, then add the meatballs in a single layer. Cook them in batches until they are browned. Remove from the pan once done cooking.
Heat another tablespoon of vegetable oil in the same pan, then add the sliced onion. Saute for five minutes and season with some salt and black pepper. After five minutes, add 1 tbsp butter, and 10 oz sliced mushroom. Stir and cook until the mushrooms are soft and nicely browned. After this, add the meatballs back into the pan, then add 3 cups of beef broth. Season with 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, salt and black pepper to taste, 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tsp thyme. Bring to a boil, then cover the pan with its lid. Let it simmer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the lid and stir in 3 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water. Let it cook for five more minutes uncovered, then serve.
