Do you own a water bottle? If so, you might have noticed that it starts to develop a bad taste or odor over time, regardless of whether it is made of plastic or metal. This can be particularly noticeable if you use electrolyte replacement powder or powdered juices. You’ll find that subsequent refills always have a hint of the flavoring agent. Even if you only use it to store juice in the fridge for a short period, it can still absorb the smell and taste of the juice, making it difficult to remove. I’ve always wondered how to remove stale odors and taste from water bottles but had no luck until I found Weekend Wanderer‘s video on YouTube.

Fill your water bottle with regular tap water.
Get one denture-cleaning tablet and place it inside the water bottle. Break it a little bit if you need to.
Give it a shake and let it dissolve. Set it aside and wait for 5 to 15 minutes.
After a few minutes, remove the water and rinse it a couple of times, then let it air dry. Initially, it may have a slight hint of the minty flavor, but that goes away fast.
