This quilt would look great in many color combinations, although I really love the red and white, don’t you? This quilt makes such a nice graphic statement. Plus red and white is always so classic. I love everything about it.

Laura chose this quilt to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday on July 1, 2017. This is the first of a 4 part tutorial, so if you want to see the other 3 parts, which I’m sure you will, if you decide to make this lovely quilt, they can be found on YouTube under Laura Ann Coia’s videos.

You’ll need 4 yards of the red and 3 of the white. She irons her fabric and applies starch to keep her pieces from stretching while she sews them together. She also labels her quilt pieces to make putting this quilt together and in the proper order. She’s very organized, so perhaps we can all get inspired by this!

I’ve started working on this very quilt. I fell in love with it and just had to have one. I’m making mine in the red and white fabric like she does in her tutorial.

Watch how Laura makes this beautiful quilt in her step by step tutorial and follow up with Part 2, 3 & 4 so you can follow these instructions to completion. Happy quilting!
