Recycle Plastic Bottles into Two-Tiered Flower Pots

This DIY by Sky Garden will teach you how to recycle plastic bottles into two-tiered flower pots! How fun is that? Instead of throwing these recyclable materials right into the trash after using them, you can turn them into these bright planters. Adding these to your garden will surely make the space more alive, especially when the flowers are already blooming.

Materials:

• big plastic bottles
• small plastic bottle
• cutter
• scissors
• marker
• spray paint
• brush
• white and black paint

Instructions:

Step 1:

Remove the caps and handles from the bottles.

Step 2:

Carefully cut the top part (on the first line after the curve) using a cutter. Next, cut the bottom part (on the last line).

Step 3:

Using a marker and the cap of the bottle, draw curves on the edge of the top and bottom parts. The curves should connect all the way around. Repeat for the other pieces.

Step 4:

Cut the curves on the top and bottom parts using a sharp scissor.

Step 5:

Remove the label from the small plastic bottle then cut the bottom part. Draw several vertical lines on the bottom edge, then cut them. Fold each one outward.

Step 6:

Place it in the middle of the bottom part of the big plastic bottle, making sure that the ends are folded. Heat on each fold using a soldering iron to secure it in place.

Step 7:

Insert the neck of the big bottle into the small bottle. Use a soldering iron to secure it in place. Next, make a hole in the center of the caps of the small bottles.

Step 8:

Spray-paint everything with your preferred color, then let it dry.

Step 9:

Using white paint and a small brush, paint small dots on the flower pot. Next, outline the curves with black paint.

Step 10:

Fill the pots with soil and plant your flowers.
