Instead of serving your Jell-O desserts the usual way, try something different this time by doing a rainbow deviled eggs version! Learn how to easily make them through this quick and simple video tutorial by Crouton Crackerjacks on YouTube.

Ingredients:

  • 6 flavors of Jell-O, cherry, orange, lemon, lime, berry blue, and grapes
  • Unflavored gelatine, Knox brand is recommended
  • Yogurt, sour cream, cool-whip or evaporated milk
  • Whipping cream or whipped cream
  • Vegetable oil
  • Assorted measuring cups
  • Whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Funnel or syringe
  • Egg molds

Directions:

Step 1

Combine 2 tablespoons of cool water and ¼ teaspoon of unflavored gelatine together in a small bowl or cup. Let it dissolve slightly before adding a 3 ounces package of Jello. Add in enough amount of boiling water to make a total of 1¼ cups. Give it a good whisk for about 2-3 minutes or until all of the gelatin has dissolved. Pour and separate ¾ cup of the mixture into another measuring cup, then set it aside. Do this process for all other flavors of Jell-O. For the remaining mix, add in enough sour cream, yogurt, or cool-whip to make a ¾ cup amount of mixture. Give them a good whisk and then set it aside. Let both mixtures cool before using them.

Step 2

Use a small piece of tissue or paper towel to spread some oil on your Jell-O jiggler molds, then use about 1 teaspoon for each layer of Jell-O flavors, making sure to end up with a total of 11 layers. There should be a clear and opaque layer for each color except grape which will be a double layer of clear. Refrigerate them for about 15-20 minutes and no more than 45 minutes between layers. To unmold them, dip the mold into a bowl of hot water just to let the Jell-O unstick from the mold. Slice each egg in half and top it with some whipped cream.
