Materials:

  • fabric scraps
  • zipper
  • batting (8.7″ x 14.6″)
  • lining (8.7″ x 14.6″)
  • scissors

Instructions:

Step 1:

Iron all of the fabric scraps. Start sewing the small pieces of different fabrics together into the batting. Cut the pieces and trim off some excess if needed especially on the edges. You can use different shapes and sizes to fill up the whole batting sheet. Once done, iron the quilted fabric.

Step 3:

Lay the lining on top and sew on the edge of the zipper and fabric. Once done, flip it over to the back of the quilted fabric. Unzip the zipper and use a zipper foot on your sewing machine to top stitch the seam. Next, fold the quilted fabric to the back and sew the end to the zipper. Fold the lining towards the front edge and sew it to the zipper.

Step 4:

Pull the right side out and top stitch the other side of the zipper.

Step 5:

Fold an inch of the bottom and secure with pins. Sew both side edges with a 0.2-inch seam allowance.
