Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet and sauté the onions just until translucent. Add the beef and Italian sausages and crumble until the meat is cooked through and browned well. Then, drain off the excess fat and add in the lasagna noodles that have been broken into pieces. Next, pour the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water on top.
Lightly stir and bring the pot to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot to cook for 10 minutes without stirring. After 10 minutes, carefully remove the lid and give it a stir.
Season with salt, sugar, and garlic powder if desired.Combine all of the ingredients and separate any noodles that have become stuck together.
When it’s done, put the lid back on and cook for another 10 minutes while stirring every now and then. Turn off the heat, remove the lid, stir well, and separate any stuck noodles. Next, sprinkle some oregano over the top and dollop spoonfuls of the ricotta cheese. Replace the lid and let the dish rest for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
Once the ricotta has melted, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over it and place it under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to melt and brown the added cheese.
Lastly, let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve and enjoy!
