Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • ground chicken
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • bread slices
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • freshly chopped parsley (for garnish)

Directions:

Step 1

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan, then saute the chopped onion until softened. Next, add the ground chicken and cook until brown. Once the chicken browns, add the diced bell peppers, and shredded carrots. Mix well and cook until softened. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp paprika, and 1/2 tsp oregano. Mix until well combined, remove from heat, and set aside.

Step 2

Next, grease your casserole dish with some olive oil, then add the bread slices at the bottom. Now, add the ground chicken mixture and spread them evenly. Sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese on top along with shredded cheddar cheese. After this, add another layer of bread slices, then pour and spread the heavy cream on top. Sprinkle some more shredded cheese, then place the casserole in a 350 degrees F oven and bake for ten minutes. Garnish with some freshly chopped parsley and serve. Enjoy!
