It’s almost summer, and it’s the perfect time to have some grilled chicken and baked beans! How about you try this quick “shortcut” baked beans recipe by Tammy at the Collard Valley Cooks? With only three (3) easy-to-follow steps: you can make this southern-style sidedish! It is a faster way of making your favorite beans instead of putting them in the oven. I love baked beans, and this one combined with barbecue sauce, butter, and crispy bacon – makes it yummier! Chop the onions and bell peppers. Then dice the bacon into thin pieces.
Heat the pan and pour four (4) tablespoons of olive oil. Once the pan is heated, toss the diced bacon, onions, and peppers. Put the pan on medium or low heat, then cook for a few minutes until the onions are soft. Once the onions are soft, toss 1/8 stick of salted butter. Cook until the bacon is crispy.
When the bacon is toasted and brown, add a whole can of original baked beans. Then combine a half cup of barbecue sauce. You can use sweet and spicy barbecue sauce if you love some kick, or you can also put your favorite BBQ sauce. Put the heat on low and let them simmer and thicken for 15 minutes.
Adjust the taste based on your preference. After 15 minutes, your baked beans are ready to serve!
Get a spoonful and put it in a small bowl. Enjoy!
