To make these pumpkin spice donut holes, you need flour, sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, salt, pumpkin puree, egg, and butter. The topping is a mixture of sugar and pumpkin pie spice, but you can also coat them with your favorite homemade glaze, caramel, or melted chocolate.

For the topping:
In a large bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix until well combined.
In a different bowl, add pumpkin puree, egg, and butter. Mix until well combined.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and stir until fully incorporated using a rubber spatula.
Add enough oil to a frying pan and heat until it reaches 325F.
While waiting for the oil, shape and roll the dough into balls with your greased hands.
Gently drop the dough balls into the hot oil and fry until golden brown for about 4 to 5 minutes. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry about 3 to 4 dough balls at a time.
Remove them using a slotted spoon, place on a paper towel to remove excess oil, then immediately transfer to the bowl of pumpkin pie spice-sugar mix. Toss to coat.
