Ingredients:

  • 1 lb raw shrimp (peeled, deveined, and tails removed)
  • 1 & 1/3 cups of flour
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 & 1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp ground white pepper
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp thyme
  • 6 eggs
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

Popeyes blackened ranch sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp dried dill weed
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tbsp blackened seasoning
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • salt (if required)

Directions:

Step 1

Add the flour, onion powder, paprika, oregano, thyme, ground white and black pepper, and salt in a ziplock. Close the ziplock and shake it well. In a bowl, crack six eggs and beat them. Now, put the cleaned and deveined shrimp into the bowl together with the beaten eggs, and coat them well. After this, transfer them to the ziplock and shake well, making sure the shrimp are coated. After shaking, let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 2

After a few minutes, place the shrimp in the deep fryer basket, shaking the excess flour mixture. Dump them into the oil at 350 degrees F and let them deep fry for about 20 seconds. While waiting, make the ranch. In a bowl, add the mayonnaise, buttermilk, sour cream, dried dill weed, dried parsley flakes, blackened seasoning, and black pepper. Mix well.
