Pineapple upside-down cake has always looked beautiful to me, and it can be made by using a cake box mix and canned fruits. In The Kitchen With Gina Young on YouTube shows how to make this cake using only 10 ingredients. Plus, everything is already prepackaged so there’s no need to cut fresh fruits. Even though this cake is not made from scratch, it looks amazing and gets the job done. Honestly, I don’t mind taking the shortcuts and use a boxed cake mix because at least you know you’ll have a guaranteed nice cake base. I think it’s good to note that she used the crushed pineapples on the spaces around the whole sliced pineapples because it creates moisture all over the top. Gina is so entertaining to watch because she seems like the sweetest lady. She eats most of her food in the end while most people just take a bite to sample. It’s hilarious, but it makes me want to try out her recipes.
First, make the yellow cake mix and follow the instructions on the box. Except, do not use water for the liquid, use the drain pineapple juice in the can. Then, pour the melted butter into a baking pan and dump the brown sugar to mix together.
Next, add the pineapple slices at the bottom of the pan and cherries in the center of the pineapples. Add the crushed pineapples in the spaces of where the sliced pineapples didn’t cover. Pour the cake mix all over the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 40 minutes.
Overall, I would make this cake because it’s inexpensive, and easy if I’m craving something sweet and fruity.
