Ingredients:

  • canned pineapple slices
  • canned cherry
  • four slices of white bread
  • two eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp pineapple essence
  • chopped pineapple
  • chopped cashew nuts

For the caramel:

  • 4 tbsp white sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions:

Step 1

In a pan, add 4 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp water. Let it simmer over low heat until the sugar caramelizes and turns golden brown. After this, immediately transfer the caramel to the setting mold. Place four canned pineapple slices over the caramel, then put a cherry on each pineapple hole. Set aside. Next, remove the sides of the bread slices, then chopped them into bite-size pieces.

Step 2

Transfer the bite-size bread slices to a food processor and grind them. Set aside. In a bowl, add two eggs and 1/2 cup of sugar. Whisk well, then add 400 ml milk and 1/2 tsp pineapple essence. Continue to whisk until well combined. Now, add the powdered bread and chopped pineapple. Mix well. Lastly, add chopped cashew nuts. Pour the mixture over the caramel and sliced pineapple gently and cover the setting mold with aluminum foil. Steam it for 25 to 30 minutes over medium heat.
