Paula Deen’s barbecue baked bean casserole recipe on YouTube is southern comfort food. It’s an easy recipe to make because a lot of these ingredients are premade and you can dump and go with the baked beans. However, you can use a boxed cornbread recipe to top it off or make it homemade. This is one of those side dishes that would go amazing with barbecued meat such as ribs, pulled pork, or smoked chicken. Also, you can turn this into a meal itself if you add ground beef to this mixture to have everything all in one bite. It’s one of those dishes if you love barbecue and beans. Plus it’s an affordable dish to make for the family and it makes a lot of leftovers too.

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1½ cups chopped yellow onion
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 pounds shredded pork
  • 1 (28-ounce) can baked beans with bacon
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups crumbled cornbread

First, preheat the oven to 350F. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until the vegetables are tender. Remove from the heat and stir in pork, beans, barbeque sauce, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Continue to watch Paula Deen tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Overall, I’ve never had baked bean casserole, but this looks amazing with the cornbread on top. I think the addition of cornbread adds a nice touch to the baked beans because it soaks up the sauce. This recipe would be great if I had a cookout.
