This Parmesan tornado potato recipe by How Tasty on YouTube is so easy and simple because it only requires a sharp knife to create the spiral effect. This is a cool way to make potatoes fun and different to eat. The breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese add nice crispiness to the potatoes. I feel like the spiral effect makes me want to eat the potatoes more. This is a great and innovative idea to make at home because I’ve seen these at the fair and I want one every time I go. However, it’s so much cheaper to make these at home.

Ingredients:

  • 6 yellow potatoes, well washed (also, double the ingredients to make more)
  • 3 tablespoons Parmigiano Reggiano (or Parmesan Cheese), freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons Bread Crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • Black Pepper, freshly grounded
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Pink Himalayan Salt
  • Parsley, fresh
  • 6 skewers

Directions:

First, in a medium bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, paprika, black pepper, and set aside. Insert a skewer into the potato and push the skewer all the way through it. Use a sharp knife and start cutting at an angle in the potato. Make sure to cut in the opposite direction that you’re turning the skewer.
