Oreo biscuits and gravy sounds amazing. Why? Obviously, the gravy isn’t going to be a typical sausage gravy so imagine sweetness poured over a fluffy homemade oreo. At first, I was a bit skeptical when I saw this tutorial by Mythical Kitchen, but most of their recipes are hits. I think this recipe works well because it’ll be a big chocolate cookie with a sweet cream filling. Everything resembles an Oreo, but a cake-like form. The consistency from the gravy looks spot on and I love how there are black specs of Oreos to replicate the black pepper. There’s a 3-step process to this recipe and the time stamps for every step is in Mythical Kitchen’s description box on YouTube.

Ingredients:

Biscuits:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp ground cookies
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Cream Fillings:

  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup candy melts

Gravy:

  • 1 cup half n half
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 c candy melts
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions:

First, add the Oreo cookies to a food processor and pulse until a fine powder is made. Add a touch of flour to aid in the powdering process. Combine the rest of the biscuit ingredients to get the dough.

Next, start on the cream filling by heating the candy melts in a double boiler. Combine the powdered sugar and the coconut oil. Mix in the candy melt until it’s a solid consistency. Place the filling in the freezer on a sheet tray.

Finally, make the sweet gravy and assemble.

After all, who would’ve thought Oreo biscuits and gravy would be a thing? Mythical Kitchen comes out with some of the most original content which is why I love watching them. There’s always a video where I question if it would taste good or not. Some of their recipes are wild and random because they include things you wouldn’t imagine would work well together. This is a wonderful recipe to try out.
