This pasta recipe is as flavorful as French onion soup. You’ll love the caramelized onions and the rich sauce. It’s incredibly easy to make and almost has the same ingredients as the soup version. The only challenging step is caramelizing the onions since it takes a lot of time and you need to stir it frequently. It will take about 25 minutes–but trust me, it’s worth it.

And if you are vegan, do not worry; this recipe is easy to customize to fit your dietary needs.

Easy French Onion Pasta Ingredients

Step 3:

Deglaze the pan with a little bit of white wine.

Step 4:

Add all-purpose flour and cook for a minute or two until it absorbs most of the liquid. Pour the beef broth and equal amount of water. Bring it to a boil and add a pinch of salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Step 5:

Once boiling, add some small pasta to the pan. Cook until the pasta is tender. The time varies depending on the pasta you use. Check the cooking instructions on the packaging. Keep an eye on it and add more water if needed.

Step 6:

Once the pasta is done cooking, turn off the heat and stir in a small amount of vinegar. Mix, garnish with thyme, and it’s ready to serve.
