Ingredients:

  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • drizzle of oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • fresh thyme
  • 1 lb rigatoni
  • 4 cups of beef stock
  • 1 tbsp garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • freshly grated parmesan
  • freshly chopped parsley

Directions:

Step 1

Add a drizzle of olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a Dutch oven and turn the heat on right between medium and medium-high heat. Once heated through and the butter is melted, add the sliced onions and season with a pinch of salt. Let the onions cook until they break down, stirring them frequently. After about 20 minutes, add the minced garlic and 1 tbsp brown sugar. Cook for another minute.

Once boiling, season it with some salt, then add the rigatoni. Cook them until the rigatoni is nice and al dente. After this, stir in the grated parmesan, ground black pepper, and freshly chopped parsley. Let it cook for two minutes, turn it off, put the lid on, and just let it sit for a few minutes. Serve and enjoy!
