Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 2 tbsp of oil (for frying)
  • 10 – 12 button mushrooms
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/2 cups of beef broth
  • chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Directions:

Step 1

Season your 4 boneless pork chops with some salt and pepper on both sides. In a pre-heated cast iron skillet (or any pan available to you) melt 2 tbsp of butter. After it melts, add 2 tbsp of oil and add in the pork chops. Sear them on each side for about two to three minutes. After searing, set them aside. In the same skillet, add a little more oil and reduce the heat to medium. Add the mushrooms and fry them until they are golden brown. After they’ve browned, go ahead and add the chopped onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Saute them until they are fragrant.

Step 2

After this, add 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour and stir until a roux form. Next, slowly add a cup and a half of beef broth. Bring to a boil and stir until the consistency thickens up, then simmer it for five minutes.  After five minutes, you can adjust the taste and add some additional seasoning to your preference. After you’re satisfied with the taste and the consistency of the gravy, you can now add the pork chops and allow this to simmer for another few minutes (three minutes or so.) Add freshly chopped parsley for garnish.
