Ingredients:

  • 7 – 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 slices of bacon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb green beans
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • juice from half a lemon
  • a handful of chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp honey

Directions:

Step 1

Season both sides of the chicken thighs with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Once the chicken is well seasoned, cover it with a cling wrap and set aside. Heat a cast-iron pan on medium heat and cook the bacon until all the fat is rendered and it has turned golden brown. Take it out once it’s cooked, then melt some butter. Once it’s melted, add the chicken thighs and cook them on medium heat for five to six minutes on each side. After they’re cooked, take them out of the pan and set them aside.

Step 2

In the same pan, melt some butter again, then add the green beans and minced onion. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook on medium heat, stirring periodically for about five minutes. Next, add the minced garlic, continue mixing it, and cook for about 30 seconds. Once the garlic has cooked, add the chicken broth, hot sauce, lemon zest, juice from half a lemon, and some freshly chopped parsley. Toss everything together and cook on medium-low heat for about five minutes with the lid on. After five minutes, add a little bit of honey and the cooked bacon. Move the green beans to one side of the pan, then place the chicken thighs on the other side. Place the lid on and let the chicken heat through for a couple of minutes on low heat.
