Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp slightly warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions:

Step 1

To a large bowl, add 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp slightly warm milk, 2 1/2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp salt, 2 tsp instant yeast, and one egg. Whisk until fully combined. Next, add 3 1/2 tbsp butter and 2 1/2 cups of flour. Mix until you form a dough. Once dough forms, transfer it to your working surface and knead for five to six minutes or until smooth, soft, and elastic. After this, divide the dough into 15 equal pieces, then start shaping them into rolls. Flatten each portion, tuck in the edges toward the center, flip it upside down, then roll it with your palm to form it into a ball. Repeat these with the rest of the dough pieces.

Step 2

Once done, place the dough balls in a butter-greased baking dish lined with parchment paper. Cover the baking dish with the rolls with a cling wrap, and get it ready for proofing. Set the oven to the lowest temperature, and once it reaches that temperature, turn it off. Now, open the oven, place the baking dish with the rolls, then close it. Leave it for 25 minutes.

Step 3

After 25 minutes, take out the baking dish and start preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. In the meantime, brush the top of the rolls with some eggwash. Once done, bake the rolls in a 350 degrees F oven for 20 to 22 minutes. After baking, brush the top with melted butter. Let it cool slightly, then serve.
