How to Make Nutty Cinnamon Rolls
Step 1:
In a large bowl, add 7 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of dry yeast, and 1 cup of lukewarm milk. Whisk until well combined. Next, add 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Whisk until incorporated.
Step 2:
Sift in most of the flour, then add the salt. Mix well using a wooden spoon. Sift in the remaining flour, then mix with your hands until well incorporated and a dough forms. Transfer the dough to your work surface and knead until smooth and elastic.
Step 3:
Grease the bowl, then place the dough. Grease the dough with the oil. Cover the bowl and leave in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Step 4:
Once it doubles in size, press it to remove the air then transfer it to your work surface. Form into a ball. Flour your work surface, then place the dough. Gently flatten it out using your fingers, then use a rolling pin to form a rectangular shape.
Step 5:
Spread the butter on top, then sprinkle the sugar, cinnamon powder, and crushed walnuts. Start rolling the dough from the long side. Pinch the seams, then divide it into 9 parts.
Step 6:
Place in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Make sure there are spaces in between each roll. Cover and leave it to rise for 20 minutes.
Step 7:
Once the rolls are ready, bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 20 minutes.
Step 8:
Make the filling. In a bowl, whisk the cream cheese, then mix in the milk and powdered sugar.
Step 9:
Once done baking, remove the cinnamon rolls from the pan. Let it cool for a few minutes. Spread the cream cheese frosting on top, then sprinkle chopped walnuts.
