I love cinnamon raisin bread, especially with grapefruit and coffee. Yesterday I found an excellent homemade cinnamon raisin bread recipe by Artisanbreadwithsteve on Youtube, that looked so easy to follow and tasty, I knew immediately that I had to make it. The recipe itself sounded like the kind of bread my grandma used to make, that our family loved so much. Since I had always wanted to make homemade bread, I really knew this was the time to try it because the directions in this video tutorial were so simple and easy to follow.

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces cool water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground Ceylon cinnamon (or regular cinnamon)
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup of raisins

Directions:

This video recipe by Artisanbreadwithsteve on Youtube is so awesome. Steve takes us seamlessly through all the steps of making this delicious cinnamon raisin bread. First, you will dissolve your yeast in the cool water, then add all your dry ingredients. You then make a dough and let it rise according to Steve’s instructions in the video.

Then, you cook this bread with a lid on it. In the case of Steve’s loaf, he uses an ingenious method of placing two loaf pans together and clamping them down with giant paper clips! Lol, Steve is a riot, you are going to just love him.

This recipe sounds so delicious! I already have a big bag of Texas ruby red grapefruit to go with this succulent bread, I cannot wait to make it.
