Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla powder, and salt into a large bowl to remove any lumps. Whisk to combine all ingredients.
Add half of the milk, vegetable oil, or vinegar to the dry ingredients. Whisk until well combined. Then add the remaining milk to the mixture and mix again until smooth.
Line a round 6.3-inch round baking pan with parchment paper on the bottom. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared pan and cover with foil on top.
Place the pan in a steamer with boiling water. Steam the cake for 30 to 45 minutes over medium heat or until cooked. To check if it’s done, insert a stick to the center of the cake, if it comes out clean, your cake is ready.
Place the cake with the pan on a cooling rack and let it cool.
Make the ganache. Cut the dark chocolate into small pieces and place in a bowl, along with the milk. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler. Mix until melted. Cover with foil and store in the fridge until it sets.
Remove the cake from the pan, and flip it right side up. Split the cake in half using twine. Remove the top layer and add some chocolate to the center. Spread evenly, then place the top part of the cake. Melt the remaining chocolate again and pour over the cake.
Store the cake in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or so. Serve and enjoy!
