Step 1:

Add 3 tablespoons of softened salted butter, 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter, and 1 cup of powdered sugar in a small mixing bowl.

Step 2:

Get a heaping tablespoon of the peanut butter mixture and roll it with your hands. Shape it into a ball and place it on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Repeat with the remaining peanut butter mixture.

Step 3:

Add toothpicks for each ball, then place them in the fridge or freezer for about half an hour to chill.

Step 4:

Melt the chocolate according to the package instructions. Once ready, you can remove the peanut butter balls from the freezer, and start dipping them into the chocolate right away.

Step 5:

As you partially dip each buckeye into the chocolate, using any dipping tool or toothpick, put it back on the wax paper-lined cookie sheet.

Step 6:

Place the chocolate-covered peanut butter balls back in the fridge or freezer until set for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 7:

After 15 to 20 minutes, take the buckeye from the fridge or freezer and remove all the toothpicks. You can cover the holes by rubbing the peanut butter around using your clean fingers. You can store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
