Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of corn on the cob
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Melted butter
  • Basil
  • Mixed herbs
  • Grated cheese
  • A pinch of paprika

White sauce

  • 1½ tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons of melted butter
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Italian seasoning

Directions:

Step 1

Peel off the husk from each of the corn, then give them a good rinse. Place a medium-sized or large pot on a stove over medium-high heat, fill it with water, and let it boil before adding in the corns. Let it boil until the corns are cooked through. After cooking, remove them from the pot and drain off excess water. Place the corns on the grill and let them grill for about 10 minutes. In a small mixing cup or bowl, mix together the lemon juice, salt, and chili powder according to your taste, then brush this mixture on each piece of corn. Turn them over and brush the other sides as well, do this until both corns are well coated with the mixture. Let them roast for about 10 minutes or until nice and golden brown.

Step 2

Place a saucepan on a stove over medium to medium-high heat, then add the butter and let it melt before adding all-purpose flour, mix them together until incorporated and let them cook until the raw smell of the flour goes off. Switch the heat setting to low, then slowly pour in the milk with the amount depending on your preference. Mix them together until there are no more lumps and it has the consistency of a sauce. Season the white sauce with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste. Add in the grated cheese and stir it until well combined and uniform, season them with a pinch of paprika, mix them well then remove from heat. In a small mixing cup or bowl, mix together some melted butter, basil, and mixed herbs. Coat the corns with this mixture, then scoop out the cheese sauce and brush it on the corns as well. After the corns are well coated with the cheese sauce, transfer them to a serving plate with the leftover cheese sauce on the side. Garnish the corn with some paprika and herbs.
