Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Get a pot, set it to medium-high heat and drizzle some olive oil. Once hot, put the ground beef and pork. Break it down using a wooden spatula and let it cook. While cooking the meat, prepare and cook your pasta. Once, it’s al dente, dry it off.
Sprinkle the dried basil, dried oregano, fennel seeds, and crushed red bell peppers into the pot. Mix the seasonings well with the meat and continue to cook. Then add some salt and pepper. Turn the heat to low and drain off the fat. Then turn the stove to medium-high heat and add the marinara sauce. Let it simmer and make the white sauce.
In a bowl, add the ricotta and egg, then whisk. Reduce the heat on the pot to low.
Assemble the lasagna. Spread some red sauce on the bottom of the baking dish. Then create a layer of the pasta on top and place some provolone cheese. Create another layer of sauce and add grated parmesan, mozzarella, and white sauce. Do the same process until you reach the top of the baking dish. Then cover it with aluminum foil.
Place the dish inside the oven and bake it for 40 minutes. Once done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
