While it’s great for beginners, I’m sure seasoned quilters will still find joy in making this. Watch the video tutorial below to learn how to make this lovely quilt.
To create four triangles from each square; cut on the diagonal twice on fabrics A and C. Once they’re cut, lay them out like a box with two solid colors on top and bottom and two prints on each side. Now, put the two fabrics, right sides together, pin them in place, then stitch all the way down with a 1/4″ seam. Press open. After this, place the two pieces, right sides together, pin them in place, then stitch with a 1/4″ seam. Once you finish the unit, trim it down to the correct size. Make four of these.

Next, take two fabric B rectangles and add a fabric E rectangle in the center. Pin them together, stitch with a 1/4″ seam, and press according to the pattern. Make four of these. Now, assemble the block. Put the rail units, making sure they’re going around in vertical placement. Then put the four hourglass units on the four corners (refer to the free pattern for the placement). Once you have everything placed, put the fabric D in the center, then stitch them together with a 1/4″ seam.
