New Year’s eve is fast approaching and if you’re one of the people who are serving bone-in ham for the holiday party, then you should read further. You might have found the perfect recipe for your ham and for sure your guests will love it, but with all those other meals served at the dinner table, there are also higher chances that you’ll have leftovers by the next day. Sure, you can still eat them and they’ll still taste as savory as they did the other day, but you’re not as excited to devour everything as you did last night. That was the case for me this past few years, that’s I’m always looking out for the best recipes and tutorials that can help me turn leftovers into another amazing dish. I’ve tried various methods before but I think this tutorial by The Average Kitchen via YouTube is quite interesting that I might give it a try this year. If you think so too, then go on ahead and read down below to find out how.

In a large pot, place the ham bone and add the seashell pasta (or any pasta you prefer), broth, thyme, parsley, carrots, potatoes, onion, salt, pepper, and bay leaves. Place the pot onto a stove on low to medium heat then bring it to a light simmer for about 3 to 4 hours. As soon as you turn the heat off, add in the leftover ham from the bone, and let the remaining heat of the soup cook the added ham. Best served hot.
