As a quilt beginner, I always look for simple and easy quilt patterns I can do to practice my skills. While browsing YouTube the other day, I found this gorgeous pattern from Fat Quarter Shop on YouTube. It’s super easy, beginner-friendly, and a quick project I can make in just a day. This quilt block will surely look gorgeous with my beautiful stack of fabric. If you want to learn how to make this, watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.
Take fabric B and fabric D, put them right sides together, then take a 3″ finish triangle paper from Triangles on a Roll. Place it on top and pin to secure, then stitch on the dotted lines. Once done, trim the edges, then cut on the solid lines. Now, rip out the paper from each piece, then press toward the darker fabric. Make seven of these for each block.

Now, make the large half-square triangle. Take fabric A and fabric C, line them right sides together, and pin them in place. Draw a line from corner to corner on the lighter fabric, then stitch a 1/4″ seam allowance on each side of the line. After this, cut it in half to make two large half-square triangles.
Star assembling the block. Grab three small half-square triangles, sew them together, and press down. Attach this to the large half-square triangle, stitch it together, and press according to your pattern. Next, take four more small half-square triangles, sew them together, and press. Add this to the bottom of the block, and sew. Your quilt block is now finished!
