Batter Mixture
Step 1
Pour about 34 ounces of water in a large container, add salt, sugar, vinegar, pepper, and green onion. Whisk it lightly until the salt and sugar are completely dissolved. Place and submerge the cleaned chicken, let it marinate in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, red pepper powder, garlic powder, baking powder, and black pepper. Scoop about 5 tablespoons of the powder mixture and put them in an empty bowl, add egg, and 1.5 ounces of water. Whisk until well-combined, you can add more water if the batter becomes too thick.
Step 3
Place a large pan over medium-high heat, pour the cooking oil, and pre-heat. Prepare the drained chicken by dipping each one in the batter and coating them with the powder mixture, shaking them gently without tapping. Deep fry the chicken and cook them slowly.
