Get the accent fabric and cut it into 30 at 1″ WOF. Set six aside for the inner border. Next, sort the jelly roll strips into 12 sets of 3. Each set should have a dark, medium, and light color. Get one set of 3 strips and 2 accent strips. Sew them in a unit strip with the accent strips in between each jelly roll. It should be from light to dark. Press all seams to one side. It should measure 7 1/2″.
Cut the strip unit into 5 blocks measuring 7 1/2″ each. Set aside the scraps. Repeat with the remaining sets of strips to make 11 more strip units. Cut them to make a total of 60 blocks. Arrange the blocks in a 7 by 8 formation. You will have four extra blocks after you lay them down. Sew them into rows first, then sew the rows together. Press all seams to one side.
Trim all four edges of the quilt, then sew the small inner border. Sew a 1″ accent inner border piece into one long piece and sew onto all four sides. For the outer border, cut 6 at 4 1/2″ WOF. Sew the short edges together into one long piece and sew onto all four sides. Quilt and bind.
