There are a lot of recipes that include soda such as Mountain Dew, 7-UP, or Coca Cola to baste on BBQ ribs. These Coca Cola BBQ ribs look super tender and have a nice perfect brown color. Mythical Kitchen’s Jack ‘n’ Coke BBQ ribs tutorial on YouTube is a great channel if you want step-by-step detailed instructions. I love how you can make these ribs right in the oven and I love making my own ribs. You can make them in a smoker if you have one, but this recipe is easy to make at home.

Ingredients:

Dry Rub:

  • Ingredients
  • Mustard
  • Liquid Smoke
  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 ½ tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Cayenne

Jack ‘n’ Coke BBQ Sauce:

  • 3 12 ounce cans Coca Cola
  • ½ cup Jack Daniels
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 ½ Tbsp dry rub
  • ¼ cup white vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

First, start off by marinating the baby back ribs with the dry rub. The recipe for the dry rub is in the ingredients list and once finished, wrap it in foil and throw it in the oven on 325F for 3 hours. Next, when the baby back ribs are finished, take them back out and baste them with the homemade Jack ‘n’ Coke BBQ sauce. Once the ribs are coated, pop it back in the oven at 400F for 5 minutes and take it back out to baste again. This will soak and caramelize the ribs.

Overall, the combination of Jack Daniel’s, Coca Cola, and the other spices for the BBQ sauce sounds smokey and sweet. I love a wet sauce for my ribs, but I love how this recipe included a dry rub then a wet BBQ sauce over it.
