This mimosa cake recipe is so easy, you literally can make it in a few minutes. All you have to do is layer the ingredients in your bowl, then just chill the cake and custard add you will add the stuff in layers. The ingredients for this recipe are super easy and basic, but you could use all pre-made store-bought ingredients if you are in a hurry. For instance, the recipe calls for a cake mix, but you could go to the grocery store bakery and buy a yellow cake.

Ingredients For The Italian Mimosa Cake Recipe:

For The Spongecake:

  • 6 eggs
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 & 1/4 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

For The Custard:

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1/3 cup of flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon

For The Whipped Cream:

  • 1 & 1/2 cups of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar

For The Lemoncello Mixture:

  • 1/3 cup of lemoncello
  • 1/3 cup of water
