Who would’ve known that you could make hummingbird feeders from ice cream cartons?! Certainly not me. That is until I came across this video by, Robbie and Gary Gardening Easy. These bird feeders can be made with just about any kind of old carton or container you have lying around with a few weeks to the DIY. The Blue Bunny containers will turn out so cute for your summer decor, and leave neighbors will wondering why you feed your ice cream to the birds.
Cut off the bottom of one of your Blue Bunny ice cream cartons to make a tray for the hummingbird food. The tray should be about 1 inch deep. If the tray is any deeper, the birds won’t be able to reach the food.

Take your other ice cream container and paint the inside of the bowl white. This is so that the logo will look more prominent and the concrete won’t be visible from the outside. Use a thin coat of paint so it will dry quickly. The paint doesn’t have to be perfect.
Mix up your concrete and pour it into the ice cream container that you just painted. Only pour enough so that the tray you cut from the other can sit on top of the concrete with the lid on top of it. Don’t worry, the paint and concrete will not ever touch the hummingbird food, so it is not toxic to the birds.

Place the tray you made in step one into the concrete and put the lid on top. Poke holes in the lid so the hummingbirds can get nectar out of the tray.
To make the nectar for inside the hummingbird feeders, mix one cup of water with 1/4 a cup of white sugar.
