Using your fingers and thumb, pull away around the edge of the napkin. Do not pull away the pattern. You want a jagged edge around. If it has 3-plys, carefully remove the 2-plys at the back. Do this in all of the napkins you’re going to use.
Clean your furniture, and remove any dust. You can lay it down, so you can work on it easier.
Put your mod podge in a container. Next, apply a generous amount of mod podge using the brush on the area where you will put the napkins. Place the napkins on top then cover with cling wrap. Finger press it to smoothen it out and remove the bubbles. You can also use a small piece of cling wrap. If you didn’t put enough glue on certain parts, just brush a little bit of glue then place the cling wrap back and smoothen it again.
Once you are satisfied with it, remove the cling wrap. Make sure to not touch it using your fingers. Let it dry before continuing with another napkin in the same area. Repeat the same process for the remaining napkins. Let them dry completely.
Seal the napkins with the mod podge. Let them dry completely then wash your brush.
Stir your lacquer with a wooden stick. Using the same brush, seal the napkins with the lacquer.
Pour a little bit of paint on a paper plate then start stippling it around to the edges of the pattern for a more solid look. Once done, let it dry completely. Soften it with a bristle brush.
Flick little speckles of paint on the napkin design. Let it dry completely. Lastly, touch it up with wax.
