I have wanted to update my living space with an oversized bespoke rug for the longest time, but those kinds are so expensive and would definitely break the bank. So I opted for a DIY because I have an old oversized rug that I think will be great once painted. Luckily, I have found the perfect tutorial from DIY Lily Ardor on Youtube that will still leave my rug soft even if I paint on it. It’s also super easy to follow and only needs a few materials. Now, my living space is so much better and cozier than before! I’ve finally achieved what I’ve been dreaming of without breaking the bank, thanks to this wonderful tutorial from DIY Lily Ardor! Check out the video tutorial below and try it out today!
To begin, mix equal parts of the flat paint, latex thinner, and water in a plastic cup. Stir it well and add the mixture to a spray bottle. (Tape off anything you don’t want to be painted on your rug.) After this, spray the paint onto the rug and rub the color with a hard bristle brush. (Spray a little bit of water in between to help blend the colors easier into the rug.) Continue this process until you paint the whole rug. (Don’t forget to shake the spray bottle every five minutes to help keep all the liquids mixed up.)

Once you finish painting, let the whole thing dry overnight. In the morning, remove the taped edges and vacuum the rug really well to help move around all the fibers.
