Almost everyone who has experienced cutting onions may have cried once, twice, or even more. Personally, there are only a few times where I haven’t shed a tear while cutting an onion, and those were the times that I try my best to look away which is also pretty dangerous because I can’t see where I’m cutting. That’s why I was incredibly happy and excited when I found this trick on the internet which apparently stops the onion from releasing irritants that causes our eyes to shed a tear. All you need to do is to get the onion reasonably cold so that the enzyme which triggers the tears in your eyes gets frozen, isn’t that super easy, and handy? Well, this idea is all thanks to Smart Fox on YouTube, now I no longer have to look away just to prevent my eyes from getting irritated with the onion’s juices! You can try this at home as well to see if it really works, and if it does, then share this hack with your family and friends, too.

Before you cut those onions make sure to put them in the freezer first, and leave them for about 15 if you’re in a hurry, but if you’ve got some time, then 30 minutes would be better. After the time is up, remove the onions from the freezer, then start cutting them directly, and you’ll notice that tearing up has become noticeably less. This method is pretty simple and straightforward. Try it out and see for yourself!
