I had to try making myself a pair of these palazzo pants because they are going to perfect to wear over my bathing suit this summer. The directions to sew these awesome palazzo pants are so easy because you can use a pair of your own pants as a pattern guide.

Materials:

  • 2 to 3 yards of fabric
  • A wide band of elastic (to fit around the waist)
  • A ruler
  • A pair of your own pants (to use as a guide)
  • A pair of scissors
  • A rotary cutter
  • A sewing machine
  • Thread

In this amazing video sewing tutorial by Joycy on YouTube, you will learn how to make these gorgeous palazzo pants in a few easy steps. You start by folding your fabric in half and laying out a pair of your own sweat pants on the fabric and cutting around them about 2 1/2 inches outside the edge of the sweatpants.

Then, following the sewing instructions by Joycy, you will cut the top of the palazzo pants off and make a tube, where you will insert the elastic. This will be the waistband that you will reattach. All you will need to do is hem your beautiful palazzo pants and you are ready to wear them!
