This sewing machine pin cushion is adorable and I love how there’s a free pattern provided by PayItForward on YouTube to make this DIY easier. I love how the requirements needed are only general beginner sewing. This would be a great gift to give someone that loves to sew during the holidays or birthday. I adore how the pin cushion replicates an actual sewing machine, and the creativity with the charms added on. There are a lot of tutorials that require you to pay for the pattern, but nothing beats free patterns. It gives everyone an opportunity to try it out. Also, it’s an inexpensive project to work on and try.
First, print off the free pattern that is provided by PayItForward on YouTube. Trace out and cut your felt colors and follow the pattern instructions. For full instructions and details, continue to watch PayItForward tutorial on YouTube.
Next, once all of the pieces are sew together, use hot glue gun to glue down the felt fabric onto the base of the sponge. Make sure to smooth out before gluing down tightly.
This is a creative idea to make a pin cushion. Using a sponge for the base of this sewing machine pin cushion is a innovative idea. I’ve seen other models and designs, but this would be my favorite one because it’s so cute and sleek. You can be as creative and use other colors and decorations for the pin cushion. I know my mom would appreciate this gift when I make her one and she would find it adorable too.
