After watching this video tutorial by urcreatedbeautifully on YouTube, I immediately knew that I had to give this hack a try and see whether it really is effective. I had a mattress that had a really tough stain that I cannot remove with standard washing, not until I discovered this cleaning solution. It is very easy to make and inexpensive, plus the steps are quite simple and straightforward.

Materials:

  • Spray bottle
  • A piece of paper or a funnel
  • 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 cup of (3%) Hydrogen peroxide
  • 1 drop of Dawn liquid dish soap

Directions:

Step 1

Grab a funnel or create one by rolling a small piece of paper diagonally, then put it in the mouth of a spray bottle. You can add the baking soda directly into the bottle or stir it in the hydrogen peroxide first to dissolve before pouring the mixture into the bottle. Add a drop of liquid dish soap, then swirl the bottle around until the dish soap is combined with the mixture.

Step 2

Spray the mixture into the stained areas of the mattress and rub it in using your hands, if you find this difficult then you can just directly pour the mixture. Do this a few times until the stain is completely covered with the cleaning solution. Make sure to rub it in every time you apply it, then once you’re done applying the solution to all of the stains, leave it and let it sit for about 30 minutes. You can do this twice until you’re satisfied with the outcome.
